We are delighted to announce that for the third time Ganneys Meadow School & Family Centre have been awarded a Green Flag in July 2020! Well done everyone and a big thank you to all staff and pupils who put in so much time and effort every day to enable us to be an Eco School.
In our previous assessment the Assessor provided us with these comments (18th September 2018):
“This is an excellent eco-nursery school with lots of curriculum led work. Every class has carried out a review with all the children’s comments recorded, the school has got rid of plastic and the children play with natural materials. All displays are backed with sacks and parents get updates through their app instead of paper. They have also stopped all individual milk bottles and use cups instead. The grounds are lovely with an orchard and growing area with all children accessing daily outdoor education. The coordinator has also mapped our new coast project across the early years’ framework. With fewer restrictions they see themselves as having a key role in delivering holistic environmental education to enable a new generation of people who care and look after the world around them. Well done and keep up the great work”
